Friday Fragments - Voting, Playground Kissing and Dead Mice

First of all, if you are new to our blog, please watch the video below of Jonathan dressed up as his comic book character, Purple Man. He and his siblings are in a commercial for La Dee Dah Soaps over at Lee's Headaches, Hormones and Hot Flashes. If you think it worthy, please link to Lee's blog and vote for "Corrie" in the right side bar about three items down from her banner. Travis @ I Like To Fish is gaining on us and threatens to overtake us. And that was after he made a plea to his peeps to vote for Jonathan's Purple Man video. (Because Travis is a stand up guy and because he wants Jonathan and his siblings to wint the $50 prize. So go to his blog and give him some loving, he loves to be loved.)

Faith: Someone ki...me at recess today!
Me: Someone kissed you?
Faith: No! Somone kicked me.
Me: Oh. Well that's okay then.
* * * * * * * * *
Me (calling my husband at his office): Is there a reason you left a dead mouse in the middle of the pantry?
Scott: There is a dead mouse in the middle of the pantry?
Me: Yes. There is no way you could've missed it. It is right in the middle of the path to your office.
Scott: It wasn't there when I was in my office this morning.
Me: I can assure you that it's been dead awhile.
Scott: It must have fallen out of the box I brought out of the office.
Me: Okay, but I'm warning you, it's still gonna be there when you get home.

The kicked comment is hilarious. That is exactly what my husband will say to our daughter in a few years time. She is 11 months old now and he has promised he will carry her in the sling until she is 25 years old!! Have a great weekend:) Jen.

LOL that is too cute! Your kids are so adorable and I had to LOL about the dead mouse and almost spewed coffee everywhere! HA! Have a great day and a wonderful weekend! Big hugs! :o)

I don't know how I missed that video. That is too cute. EECK on the mouse. That reminded me of a time that my son came running up stairs and said one was on the futon I have no idea where it came from it must have fell from the rafters. That was the grossest thing I said.

Yikes I keep forgetting about voting on the videos. Have to run back over there and take care of that. I love little kids talking and to hear what they think something means or is about. HA on the kissing kicking confusion, although like you I am glad it was kicked, but wait, that doesn't sound right either lol.
Ok the dead mouse wouldn't bother me, well mainly cause we used to raise domesticated mice for the local pet stores and even had them well behaved to sit on your shoulder and all. I miss my mice.

Ick on the mouse! Reminds me of the time when I was living alone, in a studio apartment and had a mouse. I bought a trap. Now I had a dead mouse...what to do? For some reason I thought throwing it out the window was an appropriate solution. Everyone was talking, for weeks, about the mouse, in the trap, on the sidewalk in front of our little building. I never, until now, owned up to it.

I voted for you. You are 40% Travis is 39%
Hope your kids win.

I think I'll keep my icky mouse story to myself. I don't even want to think about it.

Midday Escapades January 29, 2010 8:13 AM

Kissed, kicked, well you know it's so different and all the same. I remember kissing boys on the playground. I was such a hussy as someone pointed out. LOL.

Happy Friday!

Not seeing a dead mouse in the MIDDLE of the pantry floor is part of the genetic flaw afflicting the human male species (animals may be affected to but I have not yet conducted studies on this).

I too would leave it to be delt with upon his return and then of course due to the extreme stress it cause from just knowing it was there all day, I would expect to be treated to a lovely dinner out :O)

That is funny how the kick became okay!

I don't even want to think about the alternative with my child yet!

Amy January 29, 2010 9:54 AM

Yuck.. I do not like mice either. I found one during Christmas. My husband is the same way. He will put an empty box back in the freezer. What..

I have a new carnival starting on my blog next week. I would love for you to join in. I always enjoy reading about your family..

Yaya January 29, 2010 11:23 AM

Love that commercial!

I leave the dead things and the puke spots from his dog for him.

Helene January 29, 2010 12:09 PM

I love how you were okay with her being kicked, but being kissed was completely out of the question. That sounds like me to a tee as well!

I was finally able to watch the video and they made me laugh! Especially the part where Jonathan says the soap feels good on your pits...LOL!

Evansmom January 29, 2010 12:15 PM

Ugh, mice. Can't stand the varmints.

"That's OK then" you're hilarious...

I love the commercial. I voted for them. I hope they win. Can I vote again?

mub January 30, 2010 9:35 AM

Voted =)

When my husband first moved out he was living in this little old falling apart house that sometimes had a little bit of a mouse problem. He saw a mouse peeking it's head out of a hole one day and so he set traps all over to catch it. A couple of days went by and the mouse was STILL there and he couldn't figure out why it hadn't been moving. Until he went over there realized that it was already DEAD and his carefully placed mouse traps weren't of any use *L*

otin January 30, 2010 10:23 AM

Love in the video when he says, "do you have anything to say?" LOL

It is also funny that it is okay to be kicked, but not kissed!

Melinda January 30, 2010 12:42 PM

Dead mice. Yikes. My sister had to kill a rat in her garage last week. I admire her tenacity, but I don't consider "rat killing" to be in my mommy job description!

Glad the comment function finally worked on my blog for you!! ;0)

Your blog is really coming along nicely. ;0)

Tracie January 30, 2010 5:33 PM

The only good mouse is a dead mouse.

Hope you're having a great weekend!

Mrs4444 January 30, 2010 6:00 PM

Yuck on the dead mouse! I wouldn't have picked it up, either, but I would have had an irrational fear that it would come back to life and attack me or something.

Thank you for the nice plug for FF :)

Hope you're having a great weekend! :)

Sherry at EX Marks the Spot January 30, 2010 7:11 PM

Friday Fragments sounds like a terrific idea. Trouble is that I'm rather fragmented every day of the week along now (studying for the bar exam.)

Loved the kiss/kick comment.

Alexis AKA MOM January 30, 2010 10:47 PM

Voted again :)

Oh it's ok it was just a kick ... LOL

LOL yup that mouse would still be there until Rick came home too :)

tammy January 30, 2010 10:48 PM

Thanks for the giggle! ;) I need to start marking down the things my daughter says...of course, she probably wouldn't approve of me blogging about them. LOL

Good luck to your kids! Going to go look into voting for them.

Unknown Mami January 31, 2010 12:32 AM

Maybe your husband was leaving the mouse as a gift sort of like a cat would.

Cat January 31, 2010 9:58 PM
