Sunday's In My City - Retracting Teen Give-a-way

I'm not sure about all the rules for Sunday In My City over at Unknown Mami's place. I've seen people post pictures of flowers, landscapes, buildings, statutes and even man hole covers. (I think it was at Sunday In My City where I saw the man hole covers which tell a story if you follow them for several blocks.)

Unknown Mami

Anyway, here is her button if you want to play along. It's like traveling to see different parts of the world without leaving your home. In my case, I've been home bound for a month. So the best I can do is show you the snow around my house this Sunday.

By the way, I'm retracting my offer to give away an experienced babysitting, hard working 17 year old teenager who eats his mom's chocolate covered pretzels and drinks her Diet Dr. Pepper cherry flavored soda. I've found out there are advantages to a teen who'll eat food right from his mother's mouth.

I was sitting down to my lunch, when Joshua decided that he wanted it. I told him he could have it if he saved my beautiful holly tree which was bent to the ground from the weight of the snow.

He ran out immediately to start working.

But decided that he needed a little more protection.
So he came inside to get a little more more protection.
Look at the snow in his hair.

omg what is with your family and being naked and cold?!?!?

Foursons February 7, 2010 11:49 AM

That's a teenage boy for you. Not getting dressed before going out in the cold weather is par for the course.

I do love that they are useful for things like saving trees and that you can buy them off with a plate of food.

haha, omg, kids are funny huh?

5thsister February 7, 2010 1:38 PM

That was funny! Why is it teens never wear enough clothes? My 15 y.o. daughter hates to wear coats. And to see your Josh in shorts trying to save the tree was a riot. This was a cute post.

Oh, btw, what did you eat instead?

ROFL that is too funny. He reminds me of my kids who go out in the cold and snow dressed in shorts and no shirt. My youngest is known for that. Too funny.

He must have been very hungry to run out in the snow half nekkid!

Kellyansapansa February 7, 2010 2:24 PM

That seems like a pretty fair trade!

Amazing what a teenage boy will do for food, I must remember that. My eldest has a 'less is more' attitude to clothes too and wears very little around the house. Love the last pic, it says it all:) Jen.

OMG, I can't believe that he wanted your lunch so bad...that must have been some lunch to go in the snow shirtless.

Brian Miller February 7, 2010 6:26 PM

haha. love it! hope you (and he) stay warm!

ck February 7, 2010 6:36 PM

Niiiice. (And cold.)

I'm so done with this snow. Especially since my kids are too young to bribe into helping with it.

AudreyO February 7, 2010 7:36 PM

It's amazing how useful teenagers can be sometimes huh?

Erin February 7, 2010 7:41 PM

That is so BOY!! Glad he came in for more protection!

Unknown Mami February 7, 2010 7:42 PM

He deserves that meal.

There are no rules to SIMC other than you share something about your surroundings! I wish you would have shared that meal with me, but I wouldn't have worked for it like Joshua did.

Yea, that must be a boy thing, wearing shorts and not much more in the cold winter weather. Glad to see it's not just my guys, hehe! Hope everyone is doing well in the blizzard aftermath! Thanks for stopping by my blog!:-)

Hahahaha! That's awesome!!!! I have pictures of my next youngest brother sitting in a huge pile of snow with nothing more than his swim trunks!! HA! I ought to post that sometime just for him! Need to find it first!

Alexis AKA MOM February 7, 2010 8:54 PM

OMGoodness we get a look at what he'll look like with white hair .. LOL

Love the face :)

Menopausal New Mom February 7, 2010 9:39 PM

OMG!! He looks like Superman out there with that shovel! Is there anything left of that tree? Looks like it took a hell of a beating between that snow and shovel Lol!

Miss Fanny February 8, 2010 12:02 AM

Yes, I would say he's a keeper. On the other hand, if you know anyone looking for an 18 year old girl, I know someone who is available. :-)

Ocean Girl February 8, 2010 6:11 AM

Hi. I'm from Mami:)

Quite a Sunday huh, cold and fun!

pixiemama February 8, 2010 11:04 AM

Oh, how I wish my kids liked food more!

If you still want to give him away, I'll take him. He'll save me from myself, and he'll be able to get the others to understand that they don't WANT the diet crap mom eats.

;)

Peterson Family February 8, 2010 8:12 PM

I see our neighbor's teenage boys outside in tshirts and shorts in the snow too. I am guessing cold just doesn't register with them like it does us!

I spent the morning playing with Photoshop to make that coupon and had the darndest time trying to find a barcode online that would let me cut and paste it to use! I finally found one on a joke website and was able to use it! (I thought it would be soooo simple.....) I make a lot of my stuff in Photoshop!
